How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
The Stamps Scholarship allowed me to broaden my horizons by completing an outdoor leadership expedition, studying abroad and to start my own company. These diverse experiences all have combined to make me who I am today. It also gave me one of the closest sets of friends I could ask for.

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your freshman self?
I would say to be more open to change. Not everything is going to go according to the master plan you made before freshman year, and that’s okay! Be open to the opportunities that present themselves and make the most of them.

Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
That would have to be my scholarship director, Chaffee Viets. I’ve shared a lot of experiences with him over the years, whether it was preparing for outdoor leadership expeditions or working on SSNC15 together, and he has been there at every step along the way to help me develop both professionally and as a person.

Please share your most memorable Stamps Scholar experience.
I was heavily involved in planning the Stamps Scholars National Convention 2015, and seeing that event come together successfully may have been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Seeing that many scholars come together to connect, engage and celebrate the vision of Dr. and Mrs. Stamps is something I will never forget.

Plans after graduation?
I will be returning to my hometown of Cincinnati, OH to work for a green energy firm, the Melink Corporation, as a Geothermal Project Engineer. I look forward to helping achieve Melink’s mission of changing the world, one building at a time.
