How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
The Stamps Scholarship not only lifted the financial burden of college off my family, but it gave me the opportunity to travel abroad to Southeast Asia for a winter term, something I never thought I’d be able to do. The Stamps Scholarship also introduce me to such smart and accomplished people. I am always in awe of everything the other Maryland Stamps Scholars are up too, and I always have a great time when we are all able to be in the same place!

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your freshman self?
It’s okay to change your mind and to be unsure about your future. Your four year plan is going to change a lot, so just be adaptable and explore all your interests.

Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
My parents have been my number fans and biggest supporters since day one. They’ve always believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself, and they’ve kept me motivated throughout college. The friends I made freshman year in my honors program have also had a huge impact throughout college career. They’ve stuck by me the last four year, through every freak out and struggling finals week. And they have always been there to pick me up when I’m down. I wouldn’t have made it through without them.

What’s your favorite Stamps Scholar memory?
Going to Stamps National Convention in 2015 at Georgia Tech is my favorite memory. It was my first year being a Stamps Scholar and it was so wonderful meeting all the scholars from across the country. I also got to partake in important discussions surrounding social change and privilege.

What comes next?
I recently accepted a computer scientist position with the Naval Sea Systems Command.
