How did the Stamps Scholarship help shape your undergraduate experience?
Stamps gave me the ability to take risks I may not have otherwise taken with my education. I was empowered to follow my passions, to travel the world, and to develop as a leader. I have had experiences and built relationships that I will treasure for a lifetime thanks to this program.

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your freshman self?
There are many different kinds of success. Academic and career success are just two of them. Your own version of personal success may be a different blend of successes than someone else’s. There is no one right way, so define success in a way that you will be at peace with yourself.

Who has had the greatest impact on you throughout your college career and how so?
I’m not sure I could possibly choose just one. I have been lucky to have so many influential people in my life, from friends across majors who have introduced me to new interests and ideas to the many professors who have challenged me to develop and defend my design rationale and expand what I am capable of. My college career has been an incredible cross-disciplinary experience thanks to so many people, and selecting just one person wouldn’t do it justice.

Please share your most memorable Stamps Scholar experience.
On our leadership excursion in Scotland in summer 2013, I remember reaching the top of every mountain, looking back at every incredible view, and thinking “Wow, my feet got me here.” I’ve not only learned to appreciate my “feet” much more in every endeavor, but that I am capable of much more than I often think I am.

Plans after graduation?
I am moving to Sydney, Australia, to build my career in user experience design abroad while continuing to work remotely for Alii Healthcare, an Atlanta based technology start-up.
